Air

Dublin is served by one airport - Dublin International Airport, on the city's North Side. Cheap airlines to Dublin include Aerlingus and Ryanair, though many other airlines offer good deals to Dublin or some of the other airports in Ireland. From Dublin Airport to UCD

The easiest and quickest ways to get from Dublin Airport to UCD is by Aircoach - this blue shuttle-bus picks passengers up from outside the arrivals terminal and stops at all major hotels en route from the airport to south of the city centre.  It stops outside the Montrose Hotel, which is opposite the main gate to UCD.  The cost is €8 one-way or €14 return.  The return Aircoach stop is outside the main UCD gate, opposite the Montrose Hotel.

Taxis
are also readily available at taxi ranks in Dublin Airport. A taxi from the airport to the city centre costs approximately €30 and a further €10/€15 from the city centre to UCD, Belfield.  Taxi drivers may add extra charges for each passenger and for luggage.

Ferry

Regular scheduled ferry services operate between the UK and Ireland. There are two ferry terminals in Dublin; Dublin Port is near the city centre and Dun Laoghaire is approximately two miles south of UCD.

Train

Dublin is served by two main railway stations: Connolly Station and Heuston Station. From Connolly Station it is a short walk to O'Connell Street from where the numbers 3, 10, 11B busses can be boarded. There are frequent connecting services from Heuston to the city centre. Coach

Bus Éireann provides a nationwide bus service throughout Ireland with most major areas having a regular link to Dublin. The majority of Dublin services terminate in Busáras (Central Bus Station) from where it is a short walk to O'Connell Street for connecting buses to UCD. From the City Centre to UCD

Dublin Bus: The numbers 3, 10, 11B, and the 17 all provide direct bus services to the Belfield campus; the number 3, 10 and 11B can be boarded at O'Connell Street. For timetable information please visit Dublin Bus & search for "University College Dublin"   

There are usually an adequate number of taxis in operation in the city centre at any given time. It is possible to hail a taxi from the street, but convenient taxi ranks are located outside Wynn's Hotel on Middle Abbey Street and opposite the Bank of Ireland on Dame Street.
